                  Navigational Light 6-Place Auto Lamp Changer
 
 
The automatic lamp changer is one of Edko’s Federal Navigational Systems. It is a highly durable, safe, easy-to-operate lighting solution. This rugged system is designed to operate with any solid-state flasher that can provide filament failure sensing and voltage pulses to actuate the rotary solenoid. The rotary solenoid indexes the lamp turret by a spring wound ratchet mechanism. The lamp turret will support six S-8 or S-11 marine signal lamps and halogen lamps with prefocus collars and will locate the filament consistently within operating position horizontally and vertically within 0.031 inch (0.8mm) of true center. It can be mounted in any position and is not adversely affected by the normal shock and vibration encountered in navigational service.

The lamp changer comes with the following features for ease of operation and lower maintenance:

Meets or exceeds the requirements of U.S. Coast Guard Specification numbers 195 (2086A) and 472 (2086B) including vibration test at 5-G’s, shock test at 20 G’s, salt spray and immersion.

Factory Mutual (FM) approved for use in Class I, Division II Groups C & D hazardous locations when used with FM approved C-R Flasher in an FM approved lantern.

Optional – Position Sensing Circuit creates a closed circuit through two additional terminals when lamp turret reaches the designated position in its rotation.

1. General

Navigational light with six place automatic lamp changer shall be manufactured by EDKO, Inc, 1019 Airpark Drive, Sugar Grove, Illinois, 60554

2. Construction

Bridge and Pier Navigation Lights, as manufactured by Edko, Inc., shall:

  1. Provide lamp doors gasketed with sponge rubber and lenses seated on cork gaskets and sealed with (EPDM) ethylene propylene polymer and a non-hardening industrial silicone adhesive compound.
  2. Provide a pivotal hanger for pivot type lights with steel shaft with OILITE bearings.
  3. Provide a bronze retriever chain furnished with cast bronze pivot type lights.
  4. Provide galvanized retriever chain with all other pivot-type lights.
  5. Provide bronze springs on spring suspension type lights.
  6. Be available in cast aluminum or cast bronze.
  7. Provide lenses of the standard marine type, 8-inch, with 90°, 180°, or 360° Fresnel glass, in red, green, amber or clear – as specified.
  8. Provide porcelain lamp receptacles spring mounted to reduce shock

3. Warranty

System components manufactured and supplied by EDKO, Inc. shall have a one-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
