Most Edko navigation lights are available in pivot and stationary versions. Types include:

These hand-crafted navigation lights are specifically engineered for demanding service in the harshest environments. For durable, long-lasting service, the lamp doors and lenses are gasketed and then sealed with a durable polymer and a non-hardening industrial silicone adhesive compound. Edko Bridge and Pier Lights feature rugged housings in cast aluminum or cast bronze. Time proven, high-quality materials are used throughout, providing you with years of care-free service.

Federal Series Bridge and Pier Light lenses feature standard 8-inch marine type lenses, with 90°, 180°, or 360° Fresnel glass. They are available in red, green, amber and clear. All navigation lights are furnished with porcelain lamp receptacles that are spring mounted to reduce shock.. As shown in the picture to the left, locking down rods are available for the pivot series lights.

Increased service times are possible with the Federal Series Six Place Lamp Changer or Federal Series LED Beacon Bulb Circuit. When the filament in the primary lamp burns out, the Six Place Lamp Changer transfers the light to the next of six lamps. The Six Place Lamp Changer senses current flowing through the lamps, allowing it to make the lamp changeover. The LED Beacon bulb has extended life in the range of 30,000 to 50,000 hours.

Type 1

Pier Light

Used for marking piers, fenders, etc. Normally supplied with 180° red fresnel lens but can be supplied with green, clear or amber lens as required.

When ordering specify the following:

1. Color of lens.
2. Length of dimension “A” (17 ½” will be furnished unless otherwise specified).
3. Catalog number.

Type 1-A

Pier Light

Used for marking center channels, piers, etc. Normally supplied with 180° red fresnel lens but can be supplied with green, clear or amber lens as required.

When ordering specify color of lens and catalog number.

Type 1-P

Pivot Type Navigation Light

Used as pier or channel marker light. Fitted with 8 inch – 180° fresnel lens of color specified. Color lenses available are red, green, clear or amber.

When ordering specify the following:

1. Color of lens.
2. Length of dimension “A” (4’ 0” will be furnished unless otherwise specified).
3. Length of retriever chain, galvanized or bronze. (8’ 0” long will be furnished unless otherwise specified).

Type 2

Pivot-Type Bridge Light

Used on bascule and vertical lift bridges. Normally supplied with 180° red fresnel lens in bottom and 180° green fresnel lens in top but can be supplied in any combination of red, green, clear or amber lenses.

2. Length of dimension “A” (4’ 10” will be furnished unless otherwise specified).
3. Length of retriever chain galvanized or bronze. (8’ 0” long will be furnished unless otherwise specified).

Type 3

Stationary-Type Navigation Light

Stationary spring mounted vertical lift or bascule bridge light. Normally supplied with 180° red fresnel lens in bottom and 180° green fresnel in top. Unit can be supplied in any combination of red, green, clear and amber lenses. A platform must be provided for relamping of unit. Support rods and springs are of phosphor bronze.

When ordering specify the following:

1. Color of lenses.
2. Length of dimension “A” (3’ 0” will be furnished unless otherwise specified).
3. Length of dimension “B” (2’ 6” recommended, dimension “B” will be 6 inches less than dimension “A”).
4. Catalog number.

Type 5

Drawbridge-Type Light

Used on draw spans and similar spans to indicate whether drawbridge is open or closed. Normally supplied with two 90° red and two 90° green fresnel lenses. Blank sections will be supplied if required.

When ordering specify the following:

1. If blank sections are required, specify number of blank sections and color of lenses.
2. Length of dimension “A” (17 ½” will be furnished unless otherwise specified).

Type 6

Channel Marker

Used for marking fenders, channels, etc. Can be supplied with 360° red, green, clear or amber fresnel lens as required.

Type 6-PSU

Pivot-Type Center of Channel Light

Type 11

Pivot-Type Duplex Center Channel Light

Used as center channel marker light. Normally supplied with two 360° green fresnel lens, but can be furnished with any combination of red, clear and amber. This navigation light can be supplied with a light out relay, where one lamp burns out and other automatically lights up.

When ordering specify the following:

1. Color of lenses.
2. Length of dimension “A” (5’ 2” will be furnished unless otherwise specified).
3. Length of retriever chain, galvanized or bronze (8’ 0” long chain will be furnished unless otherwise specified).
4. Light out relay if required. (Specify wattage of lamps to be used).
5. Catalog number.

Type 1005-101 equipped with one mercury switch used for controlling red warning lights on gate arms.

Type 1005-101X equipped with two mercury switches used for controlling Models 2, 3, 9 and 10 red and green channel lights.

Using solid state integrated circuits to sense current flowing through the lamps, this lamp out relay is used to transfer the light from one lamp to an auxiliary one should the filament in the first lamp burn out. Used with Edko’s Federal Series extended life bulbs, the circuitry can provide over 4 ½ years of light without changing.

It is totally solid state, with no moving parts or contacts. No field adjustments are necessary, and it will function with wide variations in line voltages and lamp wattage (120 VAC ± 20%, 50 or 60 Hertz). It is completely encapsulated to protect it against shock, vibration, and humidity.

The unit is housed in a weatherproof, gasketed enclosure, and can be mounted on the light assembly, or in the conduit run to the lamp. When ordering, please specify type of mounting.

This system is designed to operate with any solid-state flasher that can provide filament failure sensing and voltage pulses to actuate the rotary solenoid. The solenoid indexes the lamp turret by a spring wound ratchet mechanism. The lamp turret will support six S-8 or S-11 marine signal lamps and halogen lamps with prefocus collars and will locate the filament within operating position horizontally and vertically within 0.031 inch (0.8mm) of true center.

Edko’s Federal Series Electric Pier, Bridge, Fender and Channel Marker lights meet all specifications as set forth by the United States Coast Guard. Bridge and Pier Navigation Lights, as manufactured by Edko, Inc., shall:

1. Provide lamp doors gasketed with sponge rubber and lenses seated on cork gaskets and sealed with (EPDM) ethylene propylene polymer and a non-hardening industrial silicone adhesive compound.
2. Provide a pivotal hanger for pivot type lights with steel shaft with OILITE bearings.
3. Provide a bronze retriever chain furnished with cast bronze pivot type lights.
4. Provide galvanized retriever chain with all other pivot-type lights.
5. Provide bronze springs on spring suspension type lights.
6. Be available in cast aluminum or cast bronze.
7. Provide lenses of the standard marine type, 8-inch, with 90°, 180°, or 360° Fresnel glass, in red, green, amber or clear – as specified.
8. Provide porcelain lamp receptacles spring mounted to reduce shock.

Federal APD Bridge and Pier Navigation Light dimensions shall vary depending on the type of light specified.

Electrical supply to the Bridge and Pier Navigation Lights shall be 120 VAC.

1. Type 1 Pier Light shall be available for marking piers, fenders, etc. Shall be supplied with 180° red Fresnel lens, but shall be available with green, clear or amber lens as required.
2. Type 1-A Pier Light shall be available for marking center channels, piers, etc. Shall be supplied with 180° Fresnel lens, but shall be available with green, clear, or amber lens as required.
3. Type 1-P Pivot Type Navigation Light shall be available as a pier or channel marker. Shall be fitted with an 8-inch/180° Fresnel lens of either red, green, clear, or amber as specified.
4. Type 2 Pivot Type Bridge Light shall be available for use on bascule and vertical lift bridges. Shall be supplied with an 180° red Fresnel lens in bottom, and 180° green Fresnel lens on top, but shall be available in any combination of red, green clear, or amber lenses as required.
5. Type 3 Stationary Type Navigation Light shall be stationary spring mounted vertical lift or bascule bridge light. Shall be supplied with 180° red Fresnel lens in bottom and 180° green Fresnel lens on top, but shall be available in any combination of red, green, clear or amber lenses as required. Shall provide a platform for re-lamping of unit. Shall provide support rods and springs of phosphor bronze.
6. Type 5 Drawbridge Type Light shall be supplied for use on draw spans and similar spans to indicate whether drawbridge is open or closed. Shall be supplied with two 90° red and two 90° green Fresnel lenses. Blank sections shall be available as required.
7. Type 6 Channel Marker shall be supplied with marking fenders, channels, etc. Shall be supplied with 360° red, green, clear or amber Fresnel lens as required.
8. Type 6-PSU Pivot-Type Center of Channel Light shall be supplied for use as center of channel marker light. Shall be supplied with 360° green Fresnel lens, but shall be available with red, clear, or amber lens as required.
9. Type 9 Pivot-Type Navigation Light shall be a pivot support vertical lift or bascule bridge light. Shall be supplied with 180° red Fresnel lens in top and 360° green Fresnel lens in bottom, but shall be available in any combination of red, green, clear and amber lenses as required.
10. Type 10 Pivot-Type Navigation Light shall be a spring suspension pivot support vertical lift or bascule bridge light. Shall be supplied with 180° red Fresnel lens in top and 360° green Fresnel lens on bottom, but shall be available in any combination of red, green, clear and amber lenses as required. Support rods shall be 1-inch phosphor bronze.
11. Type 11 Pivot-type Duplex Center Channel Light shall be supplied for use as center channel marker light. Shall be supplied with two 360° green Fresnel lenses, but shall be available with any combination of red, clear and amber.
